Real-time Transport Protocol or RTP is a network protocol that governs the real-time transmission of voice and video data Packets over an IP network. Online services including Streaming, telephony, and web-based systems often times use RTP for its quick delivery compared to other transmission protocols, like Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), which gives priority to data integrity over speed.
